ECT stands for Emergency Care Technician. The ECT has successfully completed a Course Entitled: National Certificate in Emergency Care Technology. The exact title of the Course is unclear some places it’s a National certificate others, Certificate, and National Diploma. But all you need to know is that it’s a 2 year full time course. Training can be either offered through a training college - who offer the BAA / AEA / CCA qualifications (what is BAA / AEA / CCA ?) or through a tertiary facility offering a 4 year degree as a Paramedic (ECP - Emergency Care Practioner) or (ECT - Emergenct Care Technician).
